What keeps an artist engaged in her craft for forty years? The short answer is the openness to see beauty where others might not. It is also maintaining a fascination with and curiosity about life in general, plus having desire to share what I am so passionate about with others.
Painting is a lifelong journey of learning. I have been fortunate to have many superb, caring mentors in my lifetime, to whom I am grateful. But, to be successful at anything, one has to apply herself, practice daily, and remain open to experimenting with new ways of performing her craft. I can honestly say that I am excited every time I sit down at my easel. I never ask myself, "What am I going to paint today?" I wake up with ideas. I hope you enjoy my site.
